1. Start Early
Moving can be both exciting and stressful, but with the right planning, it can be a smooth and hassle-free experience. At Top G Moving, we're here to help make your move as easy as possible. Follow these expert tips to stay organized and ready on moving day.

2. Declutter Before You Pack
Moving is the perfect time to get rid of items you no longer need. Donate, sell, or recycle anything you don’t want to take with you. Fewer items mean less packing and lower moving costs.
3-Label Everything Clearly
Label each box with the room it belongs to and a brief description of its contents. Use color-coded stickers or markers to make unpacking even easier.

4-Pack a First-Night Essentials Box
Pack a separate box with items you'll need right away, such as toiletries, a change of clothes, phone chargers, snacks, medications, and basic kitchen supplies.
5. Use Quality Packing Materials
Use sturdy boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, and strong tape to protect your belongings. Don’t overload boxes—keep them under 50 lbs to prevent breakage and injury.

6. Protect Fragile Items
Wrap fragile items individually and mark those boxes as “FRAGILE.” Place heavier items at the bottom and lighter ones on top. Fill any gaps with towels, clothing, or packing peanuts.
7. Take Photos of Electronics
Before unplugging TVs, computers, or other electronics, take a photo of the wiring setup so you can reconnect everything easily at your new place.

8. Notify Important Parties
Change your address with Canada Post, banks, utility companies, and other important services at least a week before moving. Don’t forget to update your address on your driver’s license and health card.
9. Keep Valuables With You
Important documents, jewelry, passports, and cash should always travel with you—not on the moving truck.
